Used but works and sounds amazing. Sansui was a class act back in the day and the 2000 proves it. Their lower end model nothing fancy but the design and build quality is top notch. Easy to work on and designed to last for ever. That is with some new parts and testing this unit is excellent. Electrolytic capacitors replaced a good cleaning and it will see another 50 years. This one is excellent in looks and function. Power output: 32 watts per channel into 8? (stereo). Reviewed Jul 17th, 2023 by Justrucking. This Sansui 2000 is my first foray into vintage audio. As one gentleman stated, it has that tube amp sound, and it does. I cannot get over how much bass this thing puts out. No subs needed, and I have two SVS SB-3000 in the room. The 30 wpc can easily run the Zu’s to ear damaging levels. Then the detail, listening to Classical and Jazz, with the Zu’s it put you in the room. I was amazed at what the Sansui could do with detail. And horns, strings, the male and female voice, just incredible. I also hooked up a WiiM Mini streamer to its AUX input, and even that sounded incredibly good, none of that digital haze, and dead silent. Even on FM, when the stars align, there is no hiss coming out of the Zu’s. This Sansui is dead silent. Granted, this is not the sexiest looking receiver out there, but I see no reason to not keep it. This truly is, The little receiver that could, and it is delivering in spades. I could easily get rid of my PS Audio and Parasound gear and live happily with this receiver. This is something this new gear cannot do, and that is analogue, there is nothing like the real thing. Who knows, there may be some gear up for sale. Reviewed Dec 03rd, 2019 by. Not sure why this receiver is sooo darn good. Being a technician it’s specs are not all that great but maybe not having too many components in it’s signal path and being a cap-coupled amp with a excellent tuner it just sounds better than it has a right to. Reviewed Oct 17th, 2018 by AMCHornet. My 2000 was used almost every day for 30 years in a high school classroom. The teacher gave it to me and I carried it home under my arm on the school bus. I’ve had it ever since. Talk about a robust receiver that can take a beating and keep on ticking. Mine had at least a dozen bad transistors and nearly that many bad capacitors but it kept working. It didn’t sound too good, but it kept working. I later rebuilt it to make it work like new again. It’s a shame the 2000A and 2000X get all the attention, because the 2000 is a great receiver on it’s own. It was introduced in 1967, predating the A or X and making it one of Sansui’s first solid state receivers and the most advanced yet when it was introduced. The protector circuit is particularly remarkable for the time. It’s compact, light, has all the features you need, none of the features you don’t, powerful, and sounds good. It’s built like a tube amp and sounds like tube amp, but it has solid state power and punch behind it. It has an excellent power supply to produce heavy bass without clipping. It’s the little engine that could. I can best describe it’s sound as crisp and detailed but also warm, full, and powerful. It’s the perfect combination of tube sound and solid state sound. Reviewed Jul 15th, 2017 by Bluesplayer. Great sounding Vintage Receiver. Good power, nice tone. Reviewed Nov 25th, 2014 by biz. Very well built with an nice phono section. On February 6th, 2018. Just bought a 2000 model sansui from a local record shop. It came with the original speakers and boxes. Got a very good deal on everything. Previous owner was just going to throw everything away.
