The item for sale is Mostly Working but Needs Repair. Item is in Good cosmetic condition (see pictures). Upon inspection of the device. I noticed the type of scuffs and scratches on the body of the device that happen with normal use. There are noticeable scratches on the left side of the device. There are noticeable scuffs and scratches on the top and bottom of the device (see picture #12). There are minor dents and dings in the wood cover. The Bass knob has been broken off (see picture #2). The Balance knob is bent slightly (see picture #3). The Power and Treble Turnover switch caps are missing (see picture #2). All ports and connectors are in good cosmetic condition. There are minor scratches on the screen. I was able to power on the device. All of the original lights are functional. I was able to hook an in-house pair of speakers up to the device and use an audio source to test the Adaptor, Tape 1, Tape 2, Phono 1, Phono 2 and AUX audio inputs. I was able to pass audio through these inputs and hear it through the speakers using all speaker outputs (Channels A and B Left and Right). I was able to turn Speakers A and B on & off using the respective buttons. I was able to tune to local FM station frequencies using an in-house antenna connected to the antenna terminal on the back of the device. FM button is inconsistent. I was able to clean the button using deoxit to an extent. The device will switch to the FM tuning mode when pressed but the button sometimes does not fully switch on and weird audio issues will happen if it does not get pressed properly. I found that pushing in the button and slowly releasing it will fix this. I was able to hear audio from the headphone jack with a pair of in-house headphones using all of the RCA inputs. I was able to adjust the Treble, Volume and Balance of the audio with the on-board knobs. Volume knob is a little scratchy when adjusting on the lowest volume settings but will not be scratchy when the knob is left still. I was unable to adjust the Bass because of the broken off knob. The Bass Turnover, Treble Turnover, Tone, Low Filter, High Filter, Tape Duplicate, Tape Monitor 1 and 2, Adaptor, Mode, Loudness and Muting switches were tested to be working. The MPX Noise Fil and FM Muting Off buttons were tested to be working. The Dubbing In and Out ports are untested. How do you know when to trust a stereo receiver to fill your musical needs?
