Sansui TU-919 Quartz Locked Stereo AM/FM Tuner Partial Service
Sorry, I do not have the manual or any original packaging. One could consider this unit as having had a partial service. It has had a complete recap of the power supply. A total of 11 caps were replaced during the service (105 degree UPW Nichicon were used). The two dial lamps were replaced with LEDs and the 3 T0-220 transistors were cleaned of old thermal compound and new was neatly installed. Switches have been appropriately cleaned and lubricated, dial string pulleys have been lubricated as has the tuning cap bearing points. Potentially corrosive glue was all cleaned off of the Power Supply PCB. The tuning gang pulley, gear and stop were missing, along with the entire dial string when I picked this unit up. I sourced the parts and it’s back to original, and now has a brand new tuner string. The digital read out tracks perfectly to both ends of the tuning scale, but I did notice that the needle is slightly off at both ends of the scale. It is minor and may even be normal, but I wanted to point out my observation. For the most part, people use the digital read out almost exclusively anyway. This tuner has been fully tested and is in 100% working condition. It does take about 7-8 seconds to come up to full power and produce sound. Cosmetically, the front of the face is pretty clean with the sides and edges showing some scratches. The cabinet also has scattered scratches. Please view all images for sizes and locations. I don’t touch up items I sell; I leave that to the new owner. I’d prefer you to see and know exactly what you are receiving. The removed caps and lamps are included in the package.
